BonPen Festival 2009 in Catanauan!

Bondoc Peninsula or BonPen will celebrate the BonPen Tourism Week from Oct. 28 to 31 to showcase each town’s characteristic, festival, culture, tradition and products in one of its towns - Catanauan, Quezon.

* BonPen is the 3rd district of Quezon and consists of the towns of Padre Burgos, Agdangan, Unisan, Pitogo, Macalelon, General Luna, Catanauan, Mulanay, San Narciso, San Francisco, Buenavista and San Andres. BonPen Board Member Lourdes "Bunso" De Luna-Pasatiempo heads the BonPen Tourism Council to create it as a center of tourism in Southern Tagalog Region and a prime tourist spots.

The event's major activities will be a trade fair, product display, concert, pageant, cultural night, slogan contest, street dancing competition, float parade and launching of the Discover BonPen magazine.

The proceeds of the project is for the development and improvement of the TANGHAL SINING in Catanauan Central School especially for the preservation and compilation of the historical data and artifacts of the 3rd District of Quezon which may be used by the young generation for their educational research and knowledge.

Following is the Schedule of activities:

Day 1 – October 28, 2009 (Wednesday)
-Opening Ceremony of the Event

-Float Parade with each Town Tourism Council and MuseUM
-Slogan-Making Contest
-Acknowledgement of the 12 towns of BonPen
-Launching of Discover Bonpen Magazine
-Opening Trade Fair and Product Exhibits
-Higher Level-Latin Dancesport Championship

Day 2 – October 29, 2009 (Thursday)

-12 Towns Tourism Presentation and Heritage Mapping
-Workshop with Guest Speaker
-Oktoberfest

Day 3 – October 30, 2009 (Friday)

-BonPen Beauty Pageant

Day 4 – October 31, 2009 (Saturday)

-Street Dancing Parade and Competition
-Announcement of Winners
-Awarding of Prizes
